New Delhi – National Council of Churches in India (NCCI) commemorated 90 years of its Ecumenical Pilgrimage (1914–2004) by offering ‘Worship of Thanksgiving’ in Cathedral Church of Redemption, CNI, New Delhi, on Nov. 26, 2004.
In his welcome address, Rt. Rev. Karim Masih, Bishop of Delhi Diocese, CNI, called for unity of all Churches in this common pilgrimage and urged that the Christian community play a leading role in becoming the voice for the voiceless and ensuring socio–eco–political justice for one and all.
In the Call to Worship, Rt. Rev. Dr. S. Jeyapaul David, President, NCCI, sought the blessings from Heaven above on this auspicious occasion. “We have come to seek God’s blessings to be agents of transformation,” he said. “And, journey together as pilgrims of truth, love and justpeace.”
Litany of Praise and Thanksgiving was offered by Ms. Jyotsna Patro, President, AICCW, Rev. Richard Howell, General Secretary, EFI, and Rev. K. Lungmuana, General Secretary, All India Sunday School Association (AISSA).
Scripture Reading was led by Ms. Esther Kathiroli, Secretary, Tamil Nadu Christian Council (TNCC).
