A team of four GFA missionaries were badly beaten on Tuesday during a film display for the villagers.
While the people outside the village grouped to watch the movie Man of Mercy, an Indian–made film portraying the life of Jesus, some anti–Christian elements disrupted the show and started beating the GFA missionaries.
The police who were alerted took hold of the film equipments and started to beat the GFA missionaries. The missionaries were later arrested by the police.
Upon intervention of the GFA state leader in Rajasthan, the four men were released around noon the following day. However the film equipments are still in the police custody.
In another instance, two Gospel for Asia Missionaries and two Bible college students were attacked while distributing tracts to people in North India.
One of the GFA missionary Chetan was badly beaten and injured.
Everyday news of Missionaries and volunteers being beaten and persecuted in North India has become very mundane.
It is important that the Christians together participate by prayer and support to the Missionaries serving the Lord in the Hindu majority states of North India.
