‘End Times’ signs herald coming of Christ, says GFA’s Yohannan

New Delhi – Flash floods in China, devastating hurricanes in United States, earthquakes in South Asia – these are certain signs of the imminent rapture of Christ’s church, Gospel for Asia founder–director Dr. K.P. Yohannan has suggested, urging the believers to get serious about living selfless lives and reaching others to Christ – before it is too late.

"Serving God, spending our life for Him, is not one of those necessary evils we latch onto," the US–based evangelist said. "But this is the greatest privilege. And we should be eager to find any opportunity to get involved with things that last for eternity, because I think Jesus is coming back very, very soon."

Dr. Yohannan shared his concerns during a recent visit to India, where one of GFA's Bible colleges was destroyed in the recent earthquake that struck the border of India and Pakistan.

Thankfully none of the school's missionaries or students were injured in that quake, but he feels the devastation to the region, along with recent disasters elsewhere around the globe, bear striking similarity to events described in the New Testament as signs leading up to Christ's return.

"It looks like the coming of the Lord may be next door," he said. "And the Lord said, 'Lift up your eyes when you see these things, for your redemption draws nigh.' Honestly, there's something about this in my own spirit and in the believers' spirits; I think there is a witness that we are looking on the face of the last minutes of time."
