Mangalore: 'All Religious Meet' to be held on March 29

Christian organizations along with various peace–promoting associations will be jointly organizing an 'All Religious Meet' to promote peace and harmony in Mangalore.

Fr John Fernandes who heads the Chair of Christianity at Mangalore University informed media persons on Thursday, March 27.

According to the schedule, a rally will be held from Dr Ambedkar Circle and later a convention at the Nehru Maidan on March 29.

While Bishop Aloysius Paul D’Souza will flag off the rally, Sri Sri Shivarudra Swamiji of Sri Belimata Math, Bangalore will inaugurate the convention.

Speakers for the event include both Hindu and Muslim religious leaders.

A significant part of the population of Mangalore consists of followers of Christianity.

Konkani–speaking Catholics and Born Again Christians are the highest in number among the Christians, popularly known as Mangalorean Catholics.
