Indian born priest appointed Nuncio in Liberia, Gambia and Guinea in Africa

New Delhi – Pope Benedict XVI has appointed an Indian born priest Archbishop George Antonysamy as Apostolic Nuncio in Gambia, Guinea and Liberia in Africa.

Archbishop Antonysamy was born in 1952 in Trichy in Tamil Nadu and was ordained to priesthood on November 19, 1980 for the diocese of Tiruchirapalli.

He was elevated as Titular Archbishop of Sulci on August 4, 2005 and appointed Apostolic Nuncio in Gambia, Guinea and Liberia.
