Global Advance reaches out through marketplace mission

Global Advance ministry which provides training and resources for one million pastors and church leaders in needy areas of the world, has now begun mobilizing Christian business leaders, who have a passion to take their skills, knowledge and zeal for Christ, to go and impart those qualities into marketplace leaders in other nations.

By equipping Christian business leaders in less developed countries, the ministry is attempting to bring spiritual and economic renewal to nations.

"Our goal is to strategically align pastors and Christian business leaders in developing nations for the cause of Christ in their nations. We want national business leaders to be catalysts for the Great Commission," said Global Advance's Jonathan Shibley, adding, "Now is the time to ingrain Marketplace Missions principles in India."

According to Shibley, business leaders will participate in equipping Christian businessmen and women in India in the areas of:
· Missions in the Marketplace
· Biblical Worldview
· Integrity in Business
· Battling the roots of poverty
· Core Business Skill sets (general accounting; marketing; entrepreneurial skills; management)
· Starting a business and developing a business plan
· Generating finances for the Kingdom
· Partnering with pastors and apostolic leaders

"A new middle class is awakening in India. Aside from money, the new middle class brings with it a new populace," Shibley said. "This is an opportunity that God is giving them to use their resources, use their knowledge to be able to reach the people in the marketplace as places like Hyderabad, and Mumbai and Delhi continue to just explode on the economic scene."

While Global Advance is attempting to sharpen these business people's vision for kingdom building, its staff is focusing to view every transaction as a ministerial opportunity.

"We try to get businesspeople into thinking that their job really is a mission field where they can display God's glory through their talent, through their work," Shibley explained, adding, "And, through the money that they generate, they can be generous to invest that back into the kingdom. So these are the kind of mindsets that we're trying to create."
