In a release here, GCIC National convenor Sajan K George alleged that the Rajasthan Government was also contemplating of invoking POTA against the Archbishop. The arrest was part of hate–mongering initiated by Rajasthan Social Welfare Minister Madan Dilaver and Sangh Parivar activists, he charged.

He said the Rajasthan Government's allegation was that two years back the orphanage had published a map with mistakes. However, the threat was continuing even after the orphanage had apologized and corrected the mistake.

He pointed out that 6,000 orphans in Kota face uncertain future as Mr Dilaver had openly threatened to close down all the orphanages and other social welfare institutions run by Christians.

Claiming that the lives of Archbishop Thomas and his family members were in danger, the GCIC National convenor has also appealed to the National Human Rights Commission and other agencies to take up suo motu action to save the Archbishop.
