A mysterious fire has destroyed more than 700 huts in the Tamil colony behind Mandya Governmet hospital, in Mandya City, Karnataka state.
According to Global Council of Indian Christians (GCIC), "All the huts in the tamil colony were consumed in the raging inferno at 3.30pm on Monday, the third March afternoon."
"This slum was occupied mainly by Christian and liguistic minority community members from neighbouring state of Tamil Nadu."
Worst affected include Pastor Albert Ravi 38, and his family, consisting of wife Daisy, five year old Alice and two months old baby girl.
Global Council of Indian Christians (GCIC) is a Christian advocacy group based in Bangalore.
"The condition of the people there is very pathetic and the cause of the fire is not established by the authorities," GCIC added.
At the time of posting this news, there is no lost of human life, and the cause of the fire is still unknown.
