A Pastor during a religious conversion in Patna was attacked by Hindu radicals, who vehemently took him off to a nearby Hindu temple forcing him to raise the slogan (Hindu) of "Jai Sri Ram."
According to the information gathered by Christian Today, the Pastor Rudal Paswan, on Saturday 8th–this month, was performing a religious conversion of about 100 Dalits in Fatuha block of Patna district.
A group of BJP and VHP supporters barged into the venue and disrupted the conversion. They raised anti–Christian slogans and viciously clamored the Pastor to recite Hindu slogans.
Patna city SDO Abhay Kumar Sinha said the matter is being scrutinized and the local police have recorded Rudal Paswan's statement.
"Paswan denied that any ceremony for religious conversion had been organized. We are probing the matter," appended Sinha.
The BJP and VHP leaders alleged that around 100 people including women and men were brought to a house in Fatuha area–for baptism.
"They lured the people promising Rs 5,000 instant cash and promise of Rs 8,000 per month job," complained the supporters.
Gopal Prasad, the local president of the BJP, said, "We did not indulge in any violence. Moreover, we had informed the local administration about our pre–emptive action.”
“We explained to the people the benefits of remaining a Hindu. I told them that they were like our brothers and sisters," quoted news sources.
Peculiarly, the BJP and VHP activists are unable to name the persons responsible for conducting the ceremonies.
Patna DM B Rajender said, "We are looking into the matter. I have asked the SDO to submit a report."
