A 19-year-old Manipuri youth has been arrested in connection with the burglary at the Holy Child Auxilium School two months ago, police said on Monday.

Rahul Moirangthem, who resides in Nanak Pura in south Delhi, was arrested on Sunday by Delhi Police's special staff.

The burglary which took place in the intervening night of May 12-13 at the Holy Child Auxilium School in south Delhi's Vasant Vihar was caught on the CCTV footage revealing the accused and his friends scaling over the school wall in the middle of the night.

Few cell phones along with cash amounting to Rs.12,500 were stolen from the rooms of the principal and the accountant.

Police said the accused -- who had covered their faces -- damaged the cameras installed in the premises before committing the burglary.

A team of the Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) took 26 chance prints from the room from where the property was stolen.

The case draws parallels to the burglary from Mount Carmel School in South Campus area on May 29 in which three people, including Rahul, were apprehended.

The finger prints of the accused were sent to CFSL for comparison with the chance prints picked from the Holy Child Auxilium School. On June 30, the CFSL reported that the chance prints matched those of the thumb impression of Rahul Moirangthem.

The police team started searching for Rahul, who was granted bail in the Mount Carmel case and had gone to Manipur. He was called for interrogation on July 11 and arrested the next day.

Rahul was taken on a day's police remand. A search is on to nab the others involved in the theft.
