VHP slams Reddy, says promoting Christianity

Although the state of Andhra Pradesh saw enormous developments under the leadership of Chief Minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy, saffron outfits consistently have a reason to slander. And over and over, it is the politico's identity of being a Christian.

President of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), Ashok Singhal, accused Chief Minister Reddy of promoting Christianity in Andhra Pradesh. He slammed Reddy for being partial to Christians and ignoring the developments of the Hindu society.

Singhal even accused the UPA government for supporting proselytisation and instigating attacks on saints.

Addressing the 10-day Dharma Raksha Maha Yagnam meeting conducted by Sri Siddheswara Peetham Courtallam of Tamil Nadu, Singhal said VHP would launch 'Dharma Raksha Manch' (DRM) for protecting the spiritual oneness of the country, according to Express News.

The historical DRM convention, which would be held on January 28, and 29 at Mumbai, expects lakhs of Swami's from across the country. Church leaders fear the event will instigate Hindu activists to continue attacks on Christians on false allegations.

The convention, according to organizers, is aimed to bring awareness among the masses, and unite the Sangh Parivar organisations to launch its units at all villages.

Singhal also announced the launch of the VHP AP unit website - www.vhpap.org.
