Thousands of Catholics and devotees marched in the Eucharistic procession in Patna on Nov. 26 that marked the feast of Christ the King.

Led by Patna Archbishop William D'Souza, many city churches participated under the banner, 'As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord'.

Churches at Patna City, Bankipur, Phulwarisharif, Pataliputra Colony, Kurji, Raja Bazar, Danapur, Khagaul and Maner, were all part of the procession.

"We wait for the annual procession eagerly as it gives us a chance to profess our faith. It is the Advent season and marks the preparation of Christmas," said Fr Johnson Kelakath S.J., parish priest of Kurji church.

"The feast commemorates the reign of Christ as king of the world," he added, according to TOI.

The participants said the prayers and sang hymns and read Bible verses during the procession.

The procession is carried out every year on a Sunday before the beginning of the Advent season.
