Stabbed Pastor succumbs to death in Andhra Pradesh

A Pastor who was brutally attacked allegedly by Hindu Vahini, sympathisers of Hindu religion with knives and iron rod has succumbed to death, two days after admitting to a hospital in Andhra Pradesh. His wife also got injured during the attack.

Christians have asked the government to bring the culpirits to justice.

According to Glocal Council of Indian Christians (GCIC), when Pastor Sanjeev who is serving in Hebron Ministry and a resident of Ayappanagar in Vikarabad, a town in Ranga Reddy district of Andhra Pradesh came out of his resident on Saturday night upon hearing someone calling out his name. As soon as he steps out, he was brutally stabbed with knives seven times and was also hit with iron rods. The pastor made a loud shout and collapsed in front of the door. Upon hearing the shouts of the pastor, his wife also came out of the house; and the culprits also tried to stab her but luckily she escaped with one stab and she is not in danger.

The severely injured and bleeding Pastor was admitted to Yashoda Super Speciality Hospital immediately.

The next day, on Sunday, the 12th January afternoon, on hearing the new many of the Christians and other fellowships visited the pastor prayed for him and expressed their protest against the attack. A Dharna was also organized in Hyderabad all Christian leaders and churches in protest of this brutal act.

On Monday, the third day, the 13th January, the pastor succumbed to his injuries and died at the hospital.

All Christian members expressed their displeasure and staged a protest in front of Chief Ministers office protesting this brutal act and demanded for action on the culprits. The protesting Christians were arrested by the Police.

GCIC has alleged that the brutal attack was carried out by Hindu Vahini, sympathisers of Hindu religion, who are active in Andhra Pradesh.
