PM Modi expected to visit St. Thomas Church in Kerala

India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be visiting a century old Kerala church as a part of his visit to Kerala to inaugurate the completion of the first phase of Muziris heritage project funded by Kerala tourism.

His likely visit to St. Thomas Church in Kodungalur district of Kerala, is scheduled to be held in July or August of this year. It is believed to be one of the churches established by Christ's apostle and is considered one of the oldest church in India.

Mr. Modi is also expected to visit the Cheraman Juma Masjid which was build in 629 AD by Malik Bin Dinar, a contemporary of Cheraman Perumal, the ruler of Kodungalur, who subsequently converted to Islam.

The PM is expected to touch down by chopper on the ground of Kodungallur Kunhikuttan Thampuran Memorial Government College. He will carry out the inauguration of the Muziris project at the International Research and Convention Centre.

Modi may also visit two other historic places of worship such as the Kodungallur Bhagavathy temple.
