A pastor was shot dead when three bike borne men shot him around 8:45.p.m in Peerubanda Mohalla of Salem Tabri area of Ludhiana. The pastor Sultan Masih was shot 4 times before the assailants, who were riding Pulsar bike, sped on. The incident occurred on Saturday night outside pastor Masih's church, "Temple of God".
Local children who were playing nearby, witnessed the killing even as they described one of the killer who shot him as wearing a turban. He was immediately rushed to the Dayanand Medical College and Hospital but he could not sustain for much longer and passed away even before a proper medical treatment could be administered to him.
Apart from pastoral responsibility Sultan Masih was also running a small school for poor children, who could not afford education, inside the church premise. Pastor is survived by his wife and two sons.
Initial investigation by the police took stock of the situation by analysing the CCTV footage installed at the church premise. No arrests have been made so far.
