A 35-year-old Pastor Lalit Kumar has been detained and held illegally at Jashpur town in Chhatisgarh for the past 25 days without after two dozens of neighbours and four policemen disrupted their Sunday worship service.

According to Glocal Council of Indian Christians (GCIC), 35-year-old Pastor Lalit Kumar has been working with CGM Ministries in the town and as usual a Sunday service was in progress on the morning of 29th December 2013; when unexpectedly a shout came from outside from a crowd of about 24 people including four policement, demanding the pastor to come out. His wife went out to answer them because the pastor was preaching the word of God; but they were not satisfied.

Later, when the pastor came out of the house, they took hold of him and dragged him away. Pastor Lalit's wife followed them but was told to go to the police station and talk about this. When Meena went to the police station with another believer they found out that he has been locked up.

Meena was pregnant and the couple have three children, she gave birth to the fourth child a few days ago while her husband is in jail and is still in the jail even today.

The believers have requested for prayer for the pastor's immediate release as he has been detained and jailed illegally.
