Pathanamthitta, Kerala: The sixth time Member of Legislative Assembly of Kerala and the former Chief Whip of Government of Kerala, P. C. George, urged Church leaders to take initiative in securing job reservations for Christian converts from suppressed classes.

Addressing a public meeting on Saturday evening, in connection with the State meet of the Velan Paravar Mannan Sabha (VPMS) at Thiruvalla, he called upon common people to work to end the rampant corruption prevailing at various offices across the state.

Emphasizing the need for revision of the existing reservation system he requested organizations such as the VPMS to extend cooperation. "Many leaders of Scheduled Castes organizations were functioning without a proper knowledge or understanding of the prevailing socio-political and economic situation", he said.

George further said that church leaders should take the initiative to provide job reservation for the Christian converts at establishments that belonged to Christians.

Mr. P. C. George was removed from the position of Chief Whip after he made series of allegations against Congress leaders, some of them were within his own party, Congress (M).
