NCCI's Call to Emulate Christ by Blood Donation Held

Good Friday marks the day when Jesus Christ died on the Cross of Calvary to give life to many. Marking this occasion NCCI's Commission on Justice, Peace and Creation extended the call to Churches and Institutions to observe Blood Donation camps throughout India.

Beginning from the home front, National Council of Churches in India (NCCI), General Secretary, Rev Dr Roger Gaikwad inaugurated one such camp in Nagpur.

The Camp was jointly organized by Mr. Jeswin Rajan, Ms. Pranita Sandela, Mr. Jitendra Pathak, Mr. Nehemiah Kulothungan and Mr. Swapnil along with Rev R Christopher Jayakumar, Executive Secretary, Department of Commission on Justice, Peace and Creation of NCCI.

All Saint's cathedral in charge Rev. Satish Nanda opened the meeting with a word of Prayer.

Speaking to the gathering Dr Gaikwad encouraged the youth as he reminds them of the life and sacrifice of Jesus Christ and challenged them to live the same life. The Nagpur Youth for Christian Commitment in Action is facilitated by the Commission on Justice, Peace and Creation. In the end, Rev Caesar David performed over the closing prayers.

The Camp saw about 139 people heeding the call and donating the blood. Meanwhile Good Samaritan Church in Hyderabad and Vishakhapatnam, Redeemer's Church in Bangalore and The Central Church in Vellore, to name a few, observed Good Friday by organizing the Blood Donation Camps in their cities.
