The Dalit Christian Women Leadership meet was organized at the national level by the CBCI Office for SC/BC at Indian Social Institute, Bengaluru on 13th February 2017.
During the meet, the dalit Christian women pledge to voice the issues of Dalits especially Dalit women in the country and how to empower them.
"The purpose of the meet was to analyze the reality of Dalit Christian women, to discuss the way forward and to enhance the capacity of Dalit Christian women leadership,"
Fr. Devasagayaraj, secretary to the CBCI office for SC/BC elcomed the gathering and expressed that this is the first meeting ever held for Dalit Catholic women Leaders at the national level.
The participants elected the office bearers for the National Organization called Dalit Christian Women for Change.
The women pledged to give voice on behalf of the Dalits, especially Dalit women and speak for the rights of the Dalit Christians. They will fill the lacuna of Dalit women leadership at the National level. 41 Dalit Christian women from different parts of India participated in the leadership meet.
