In the 16th Synod meeting of the Church of North India (CNI) held in New Delhi, new office bearers were elected.
In the meeting that was held from Sept. 30 to Oct. 3, most Rev. Dr P. C. Singh was elected as the moderator, Rt. Rev. Dr Probal Kanto Dutta as the deputy moderator, Alwan Masih as the general secretary, and Jayant Agarwal as the honorary treasurer.
The National Council of Churches in India (NCCI) congratulated the team of office bearers of CNI and joined the church in praying for the team's leadership. NCCI also wished them every blessing for a fruitful ministry.
In a statement, NCCI said it looks forward with joy and anticipation to the benefits of Singh's ecumenical vision and his leadership in the CNI and society.
"May God continue to bless him and the other members of this team to accomplish much for the reign of God on earth," read the statement.
