World Council of Churches (WCC) has urged its members and other Christian bodies to find creative ways to allow children's voices to be heard. The church has invited all the Christians to celebrate World Children's Day on Nov. 20.

"This will be a day for children, by children," said Rev. Dr Olav Fykse Tveit, general secretary, WCC.

"As we ensure their care, safety and human rights, we also work to preserve a sustainable world in which we all, regardless of age, can lead a full life," he added.

WCC has asked churches to connect with their communities and celebrate the presence of children—the gifts of future generations—and shed light on the communities' ongoing challenges.

The celebrations will strengthen and augment efforts already underway by churches to improve the wellbeing of children through WCC's initiative "Churches' Commitments to Children".
