Church Near Mysuru Burgled by Miscreants Stealing Tithing Money

A newly constructed church behind the main St. Anthony's Church in Dornahalli in KR Nagar taluk of Mysore was burgled on Tuesday night or possibly wee hours of Wednesday morning. According to police sources the incident was noticed when the priest came to the church for early morning devotion and found the locks broken.

According to the priest, the thieves stole tithing amounting to thousands of rupees, kept in the donation box. But fortunately there was no damage was done to the Church property other than the donation box and the door of the Church.

A case was filed at KR Nagar police station against unknown people.

Later Deputy superintendent of police visited the spot and took stock of the situation even as the sniffer dogs are pressed into the service. Further inquiry is being conducted and a search is on for the culprits.
