BJP Threatens Christian-Majority State Nagaland, Demands Support for the Party
Monday, July 31, 2017, 13:46 (IST)
To capture Christian-dominated states like Meghalaya, Nagaland, Mizoram, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and its ideological parent Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) are waging silent crusades against the Christians.
A BJP official has warned Nagaland to support the party else there will be no development in the state.
"If you don't walk with Modi, there won't be any development. Nothing will be possible," said Ananta Narayan Mishra, the Organising Secretary BJP In-charge of Nagaland, according to The Morung Express.
During Wokha District Mandal Tour Programme on July 19, he made a controversial speech that is currently going viral on social media.
"In Nagaland, government salary will also be stopped gradually. If BJP sarkar does not come to Nagaland, Delhi's money will also not come to Nagaland," said Mishra.
His assertion revealed the BJP's ambitious step to capture Christian-predominant state.
He stated that in the next election the number of BJP MLAs in the state will increase from the present four to forty.
"In the coming days, the next CM in Nagaland will be a BJP CM," he promised, asking the attendants to note down the time and date on which he made the 'prediction'.
"No one can stop the BJP," he said. Even if BJP is termed as 'anti Christian', no one can stop BJP taking over Nagaland. A BJP leader will become the CM of the state.
Christianity is the predominant religion of Nagaland. The state's population was 1.988 million, out of which 90.02% are Christians according to 2001 census.
